Big Skies
A collection of small, hand-painted works exploring the feeling of big skies.
These pieces are inspired by the flat lands of Yorkshire, where the horizon stretches for miles and the sky becomes the main event. With little to interrupt the view, the light, colour and weather are always shifting – from bright spring days over fields of yellow, to misty mornings, stormy waters and fading evening skies.
Each painting captures a different moment within that landscape. A swimmer returning to shore, a dog walker crossing the fields, figures moving quietly through water or land beneath something much larger than themselves.
Painted in acrylic gouache on wooden panels and finished with a high gloss varnish, every piece is an original – a small window into a bigger world.
Each one tells its own story, but together they speak of space, light, and the simple act of looking up.
