This is Stephen swimming in Oslo harbour, waved on by his family in the boat.
Stephen commissioned me to commemorate a race he took part in, during 2015. His mum is Norwegian, and Oslo is her hometown. As a child, Stephen could never swim there because the water was too dirty. It was a really moving experience for him, and he wanted to remember it in a special way.
He sent me these pics to work from, which was fun. There is a lot of detail with the buildings and boats to get across. It looks an amazing location though, doesn’t it? Like so many places these days, the water is more accessible than ever, and you can get a whole new perspective of a place from being in the water.
