What Lurks Beneath?

Every open water swimmer contemplates this question at some point. Even me, and I’m not the bothered by it. Some people imagine sharks, or jellyfish – yes, even in a fresh water lake. Some worry about fish and if they might feel them, or if something might pop up in front of their face unexpectedly. Others simply worry about the depth beneath them.

This illustration is a whimsical look at this insecurity and it is something every open water swimmer will recognise.

A4 mounted prints are available in my shop.
